Our Inspiration: The Himalayan High Mountains
The Himalayas are the world’s highest mountain range. With 10 peaks over 8,000 metres, the Himalayas are often called the “Roof of the World.” Their peaks stretch over 1,500 miles from Pakistan in the west to the India-China border region in the east, passing through India, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet (China), and Pakistan.
It is a land of extremes: With its massive glaciers, the Himalayas are home to the largest ice and snow reserves outside the poles and are therefore often referred to as the “Third Pole.” In winter, temperatures on the Himalayan plateaus drop to as low as -50 °C. Add to this icy high-altitude winds, extreme day-to-night temperature swings, sudden weather changes, thin air, and high UV exposure. The cold and icy deserts of the Himalayas border the Tibetan Plateau to the north and, from there, the steppes and deserts of Central Asia, including the Gobi Desert, where temperatures often fluctuate by up to 30 °C in a single day; summers are brutally hot, reaching up to 45 °C, and winters are extremely cold, dropping to -40 °C, and it is plagued by severe sandstorms almost weekly.
Mount Everest – 8848.86 Metres above sea level

It is one of Earth’s most inhospitable regions. Or as we like to call it: The Land of the Brave. A place where inner strength and perseverance determine life or death.
This region's extreme climate inspired us to develop functional clothing built for uncompromising performance. Clothing that reliably protects you from the elements in the most extreme environments on our planet and keeps you fully prepared for your next mission and your next adventure. To do that, we rely on the wool of two animals perfectly adapted to life in this hostile region: the Mongolian yak and the Bactrian camel.
